Tuyen Quang is located in Viet Bac, in the northern part of
the country. It is characterized by majestic elevated
mountains with peaks exceeding 2,000 m above sea level. More
than half of the province’s population consists of the Kinh
ethnic group; there are also Tay, Dao, and Nung ethnic
groups.
The tropical climate influenced by north Asian climate is
divided in two seasons; dry cold winter and hot rainy
summer. The province has an annual average temperature of
22.4°C and an average rainfall varying between 1,500 and
1,800 mm.
Famous sites include Tan Trao Communal House and Hong Thai
Communal House (accommodation for delegates from different
parts of the country who came to attend National Congress
meetings).
