GOLF
COURTS DESCRIPTION
King's
Island Golf Resort and Country Club
The north
of Vietnam does not have so many golf courses but there is
one beautiful course near Hanoi. Kings Island was the
first golf course ever built in North Vietnam and is
located on the shores of the Dong Mo Reservoir in Ha Tay
Province in the shadow of Ba Vi Mountain, 50km outside of
Hanoi. This 36-hole golf resort has a club house and all
the usual facilities including a international standard
restaurant offering Western, Thai and Chinese cuisine, in
addition to traditional Vietnamese foods pre-pared by
experienced chefs. The majestic Ba Vi Mountain range and
over 1,100 hectares of water surface ensures that the 350
hectare Kings Island Golf Resort & Country Club is one
of the most scenic golf destinations in Southeast Asia.
Ocean
Dunes Golf Club
From the
mountains you can drop down to the coast to The Ocean
Dunes Golf Club located in Phan Thiet was "designed
by Nick Faldo". It is an outstanding natural site
with sand dunes, sea breezes and fantastic sea views and
is one of the Best 500 Holes in the World (by Golf
Magazine-December1999). The dunes determined the natural
routing and look of the 6,746 yard par 72 course. Sculpted
out of the coastal dunes, along the Eastern Sea, the Ocean
Dunes Golf Club is the ideal respite from the demands of
daily life. Enjoy Phan Thiet's brilliant sun, windswept
dunes and sea breezes as you tee-off at one of the most
exciting links style golf courses in the region. The Ocean
Dunes course offers exciting opportunities for more
experienced players who will appreciate the challenges
posed by the winds.
Sofitel
Dalat Palace Golf Club
From Ho Chi
Minh you can travel into the Central highlands of Vietnam
to Dalat "City of Eternal Spring" and "Le
Petit Paris" with its cool crisp air throughout the
year.
The oldest course in Vietnam originally built by the
French colonialists in 1922 has now been restored to an
18th hole course gently blending into the rolling hills of
Dalat and overlooking the Xuan Huong lake now described as
one of the most beautiful courses in Asia"
At 7,009 yards in length and par 72, Dalat Palace Golf
Club is an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all levels.
Low handicap players will be tested by a series of lakes,
which meander through ten of eighteen holes, as well as
strategically placed bunkers, which will penalize the
miscalculating risk-taker.
Novice players will find relief with large accommodating
greens normally left open for run-up approach shots, as
well as wide, forgiving fairways.
Dalat Palace Golf Club features par 3's ranging in length
from 164 to 234 yards and par 5's up to 556 yards. These
varied lengths allow a true examination of your golfing
skills, and require that players use each club in their
bag - the hallmark of a great golf course. Four different
tee areas on each hole allow players to determine their
own degree of challenge on the course.
A full practice area complements the golf course, with an
open 290-yard driving range, a putting green, and practice
bunkers. |
